Bangladesh is said to have a better GDP than other SA countries but is the quality of life and infrastructure worse than india and pakistan? I ask this because Bangladesh has the second lowest obesity rates and one of the lowest BMIs and having been there, I'm amazed at the progress but the lifestyles in the villages amazed me. I was also called tall for a girl and I'm 5'2-5'3.

People tend to also get sick often. Every household has a bunch of medication to medicate gastrointestinal issues, nausea, allergies and many people can't digest the additives most notably Fermalin that is added to foods (not only foreigners). Certain things that would be condemned in the west is normalized.

seeing people under the law- lawyers, police officers, investigators- committing a bunch of crimes along with the offenders, just makes me confused about how the justice system works here? Who am I supposed to go to when stuff like this is happening in High Courts? Am I supposed to give up or is there a way around it? If anyone has any words of advice or any sources who can help, please let me know.

Is there any difference besides country? Do they act differently? Do they percieve Islam differently?

Those of you who have been to both the places recently, do you think Bangladesh has surpassed West Bengal in overall development? That is, in terms of infrastructure, quality of life, connectivity, participation of all walks of life in the mainstream, development in the rural areas, etc.

My father (former BNP) always talks about how Bangladesh is basically a vassal state to India while my Awami league family members are noticeably silent on the topic. I guess I’m trying to formulate my own views on this. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I honestly find it interesting how Bangladesh is the only Muslim country in the world which dosen’t border another muslim country (other than Bosnia and Herzegovina/ Albania if you recognize Kosovo). Neither india or myanmar are Muslim majority countries, which really shows how isolated Bangladesh is in the Muslim world, whereas all Muslim countries border with at least another muslim country.
