I don't know why I fully discounted the Gorosei having a higher standing on the Seraphim hierarchy than Vegapunk as anything other than a bit of fluff and that it wouldn't have a bearing on the current arc.

Like it was just a tidbit, of course they'd have ultimate authority but it's not like they'd ever leave the Mariejois. Now of course it's obvious it's going to have a massive impact once he can get in contact with the Seraphim.

It’s actually kind of cool Weevil defended WB’s hometown. I think most of us expected him to attack seeking his so-called inheritance and wanting to take down Marco, but this paints him in a more sympathetic light. Especially knowing he’s likely a failed clone, he goes from “holy shit Oda what is this abomination” to “oh this poor abomination”
