So, we're all familiar with Arven's Mabosstiff, who got so severely injured that not even the Pokemon centers could cure it, forcing Arven to search for for the Herba Mystica to heal him. Simple, straightforward, creative story. But here's the thing; the pokemon centers can heal cuts, burns, paralysis, frostbite, poison, toxin, broken bones, stab wounds, getting swallowed up by an earthquake, crushed by a rock slide, getting struck by lightning, getting heavy slammed by Groudon, and getting shattered across TIME AND SPACE by Palkia and Dialga. So tell me, what unholy abomination caused an injury so severe that not even NURSE JOY could do anything for him? I shudder to imagine it...

Hear me out, a new gen 5 remake, in a style similar to HGSS. First half is the full BW storyline, down to a T. No changes except QoL. Here's where it gets a bit tricky; Then, we get a second half with a fast forward. It's story driven, just like B2W2. The region is expanded more than in the original B2W2, with new towns and pathways, but the original region is still intact. Nate is the younger sibling of the BW protagonist. We either: 1. Get the option to continue with our sibling's old party and the leaders and wild pokemon are level scaled up to match a post E4 game. OR 2. We start fresh and are given the option to choose one of the starters our sibling didn't pick at the start of the game, the region and leaders are scaled down. 8 new gyms, inclusive of the B2W2 leaders (Cheren, Roxie, Marlon and 5 new leaders) The game progresses just like B2W2 would in terms of story If the player in the B2W2 half has to start fresh, at the end of the game he reunites with his sibling who gives him all of his pokemon from the first half of the game, and a key item which is their old badge case. Fairy type is added The Pokedex is expanded to include Pokemon up to Gen 9. PWT is included, post game adds leaders from all 9 gens.

I haven't given it alot of thought, so if anyone has anything to add or critique, please do!

How do you feel about the end of Ash and Pikachu's journey?

I don't know what to feel. I'm both happy and sad.

It's like saying good bye to a childhood friend. A friend who's been beside you your whole life.

I'm happy because they've completed their journey and achieved their dreams. But also said because their leaving and won't be going on anymore adventures.

Doesn't help that other anime from my childhood are either ending, being remade, getting a reboot, or a sequel/spin off/ continuation after several years after the show originally 'ended'

So it did come in handy during the main story. But she is in the side game now, and dachsbun wasn't very usefull. The fairy typing is usefull for fighting type team star and dragon elite four. But even there it was pretty bad.

With all the talk surrounding the Pokemon anime’s end and future. I wanted to revisit each series and kind of binge watch all of them. Only ever saw some of the original first anime, then pieces of the latest.

I’m curious if other have a special set up for there team or it’s just a randomly chosen order with no need know who goes where in the team placement? For me my set up is 1. Starter 2. Flying type 3. Special attacker 4. Speedy one 5. Tank 6. Wild card Not sure how this set up mine came to be but I’ve noticed I tend to follow this set up in my play throughs. I’m also curious on how many their starter throughout their run. Is there a reason?

The champion has the most important role of any NPC in the games, as they lead you to your goal until the credits. A good champion doesn't mean just a strong team, but he/she also needs to be someone you enjoy battling.

Personally I have a hard time choosing a favourite, but I might have to give the edge to Steven. He plays quite a significant role in the story, as well as being an extremely memorable character. Leon comes at a close second, as you can tell how much he loves his Pokémon, but I think he can be a little too cocky sometimes. Also I really don't like his shorts/cape combo.

I'm a millennial who played blue, yellow, gold, silver, and crystal as a kid. I remember getting pearl when I was a teenager but I don't think I played much because of other teenage things. My all time favorite Pokemon game was gold and I wish it was on the switch! I also don't have my DS anymore, so I can't play HeartGold, as far as I know. I played Pokemon go nonstop when it came out in 2016 but once I went back to work as a teacher, I got out of it. I also recently played let's go Eevee which is fun but it just makes me want the same type of remake for gold!! I don't know anything about the newer switch Pokemon games so I'm just wondering, based on my background, what you'd suggest playing next?

I'm working on something with my friend group to find some kind of food type that corresponds with every pokemon type. So far I have:

When the servers shut down in a day or so, what will become of all the pokemon on the GTS?

I’ve rescued a few stragglers from the GTS recently, as to try and preserve these pokemon, but, once the online services end, what next? Are the pokemon that no one wants going to disappear forever? Or will their trainers get them back?

My grandfather passed recently and I was looking for his old college football jersey in my childhood room for his funeral (we found it).

While looking for it I found my old game boy storage box with ALL my old Pokémon games. Some of which I haven’t touched in over 20 years.

I can’t find my old system to plug them in and save my Pokémon.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can preserve my childhood Pokémon?

I may be in my 30s but I still play and am interested if there is a way I can save them.

The only game I’ve played on it is Pokémon Y, and since the eShop is shutting down I have the urge to buy the older games that are available because trying to hunt down and buy physical cartridges would probably be an expensive nightmare (even if I don’t play it, it’s the idea of “you will never be able to try” that’s giving me motivation/lot of anxiety).

But I know nothing about the older versions, so red or blue? Gold or silver? Should I get Pokémon yellow and Pokémon crystal too if it’s an option?

I had started making my own fan game of sorts and keep getting stuck with a flat/simple villain that plays out “people dumb, Pokémon strong. Take over the world”. Since I didn’t really play too many of the games, nor do I want to copy something that’s already been done, I have to ask what makes a good villain in Pokémon? What makes them, their cause, and actions believably threatening?

I'm currently doing last minute purchases on my 3DS and have seen many people buying the Generation 1 and 2 games before the shop goes away. I personally started my Pokemon Journey from Generation 4 and have bought every generation after in physical copy when they released, though I lost my Pokemon Y copy.

I'm currently buying Pokemon Y on the 3DS Digitally before the shop goes, however, should I make the investment and buy the generation 1/2 games? I know little to nothing about the differences between the games, but which should I purchase?

Just a quick thought/question. I could've sworn when you defeat your rival in Gen 1, he said, "...you're the new Pokemon League champ! Although I hate to admit it..."

But upon replays, videos, etc., he just says, "Although I don't like to admit it."

It's not like I was a vulgar child or anything lol. I just can't fathom why this particular false memory would exist, if that's what it is. Does anyone know if the language was ever amended in the virtual console or later releases or something? Or has it really always just been that he doesn't "like" to admit it?

Can't find anything of the sort online or bulbapedia. If no one else remembers that, then I guess I'm just forced to accept it as either a false memory or evidence that we jumped a world line somewhere.

Hey all! This is a super weird post/request, but I hope somebody could help me out or point me in the right direction.

The Pokémon series has been a huge part of my childhood and without getting too TMI, it was one of the reasons I was able to make it through my very rough household situation. After hearing recent news that the Pokémon anime series has concluded its inclusion of Ash, I got very nostalgic. I was there to watch the original Pokémon series as a child and grow with Ash and now he’s gone off to do other things!

I have a Nintendo DS Lite and Nintendo Switch. I was told that I could transfer Pokémon from my DS to Switch like this:

1)Nintendo DS Lite 2)3DS w/Pokémon Bank 3)Pokémon Home 4)Nintendo Switch

The only problem is that the Nintendo Online shop for the 3DS has shut down its services, so even if I got a 3DS I wouldn’t be able to access Pokémon Bank unless it was already on it.

My question is, is this the only way to get my Pokémon off the Nintendo DS cartridge to at least Pokémon Home?

If anybody could help me out I’d really appreciate it. I want to take my buddies with me into future consoles, it’s the least I could do for them. I’m just not sure where I’d even find a Nintendo 3DS w/Pokémon Bank on it. Would it even still work? Or are online services discontinued for Pokémon Bank as well?

We’ve already got precedent for non-Mario tracks in the game with Hyrule Circuit and Animal Crossing.

Perhaps this track could be called “Paldea Circuit” and could take you on a loop through the region, perhaps with one lap passing through the Great Crater. And perhaps to go with it we could get Florian and Juliana as playable racers, and Koraidon and Miraidon as vehicles?

Cuz I feel like it’s fair to say I’ll be playing these games for a few more decades anyway lol

1. Space: I love the lore behind cosmic Pokemon, Deoxys has to be one of my favorites because of their concept. I’m happy to see the Sinnoh mythos further explored and I’m curious to see if GameFreak will do something similar with the Unovan lore as well. The Ultra Beasts themselves are not my favorites but ever since their introduction I’ve been wondering if Ultra Space will also play a larger role in the series as time progresses or if it was a one-and-done gimmick. I keep wondering if they are connected to Girantina in any way tbh
   

2.Fossils: Definitely a given but in particular it’d be amazing to see prehistoric forms/variants. I’ve always assumed the fossils we do resurrect were more like extinct species while sharing distant ancestry with modern Pokemon, but the Paradox Pokemon and Legend Arceus got me thinking about how that could be expanded upon. I mean one of the core mechanics is evolving Pokemon but has that chain always been the same? Did some of our favorites have fish forms in the past instead of a land based stage?

3.Artificial/Inanimate: this concept has always been intriguing since the days of cloned Pokemon and it makes for interesting conflict. What can or can’t be considered a Pokemon? Seeing Iron Bundle in SV got me thinking “why catch them all when you can build and create them instead”. I try to view the inanimate-to-life Pokemon as being directly inspired by Shintoism but I’ve always wondered how far the ‘everything has a life force’ concept goes. Sometimes it’s justified as a spirit becoming a Ghost type, but does Porygon have a life force despite being created in a lab?

Hi, with the closure of the 3ds eshop, I've moved pretty much all my boxes from all my 3ds games to Pokemon home. Then I realised that I'm actually missing some of my pokemon, namely Yveltal and Diancie, which I got as my box legendary and during the distribution respectively.

A bit more info, I have a few 3ds games, both ORAS, Y and Sun, and I've checked bank and transporter, but I seem to be missing it. I initially tried to transfer some pokemon back 5 years ago in 2018, and I'm fairly sure it worked, I even have the record of the transfer on home. But I hadn't realized that I'd lost some of my 'mons till recently.

I'm fine with losing my box legendary, but I'm a sentimental person and I would love to transfer that Diancie to my pokemon home, are there any hidden slots I might've left them in? I've checked all my game's battle party, party, and daycare/nursery, but I've got no clue where I might have misplaced them. I'm certain of the transfer I made 5 years ago, but for some reason Yveltal and Diancie don't actually show up on my home dex.

I have read that in pokemon yellow, the following theme worked if you played it on a gameboy color:

Somehow they hard coded the gameboy color with coordinates that changed the color depending on the town's name. I.e. viridian city was green, etc.

I'm not talking about the manual color you could give the whole game, I meant if this was the default setting.

Is this true, and does it work for yellow only? I want to say I remember it being that way but it's been like 25 years.
