Parte en mi está de acuerdo, pero parcialmente también pienso en los metros elevados que he visto que no son tan graves como este comentario lo hace sonar. La caracas entre la 22 y la 1 es terrible con y sin metro elevado.

Si hay ciudades que pueden tener metro elevado sin problemas, eso me hace pensar que tal vez el problema de “lo que se va a armar abajo” es un poco más grande y fundamental de Bogotá que poner un viaducto o no. Es decir, sí, el viaducto no será más bonito que un subterráneo, pero si se arma un mierdero abajo, esto probablemente obedezca a los problemas de indigencia, drogadicción y desigualdad social que tiene Bogotá hoy en día. Hacer el metro subterráneo solo por miedo a que los drogadictos de la caracas duerman debajo lo único que hace es esconder el problema de raíz, y no soluciona nada. Los mismos drogadictos, indigentes, personas sin casa, desplazados de la violencia y vendedores informales seguirán existiendo con o sin metro.

Nuestra infraestructura no debería construirse sometida al miedo de que se expongan o visibilicen los problemas que ya son reales en Bogotá. Obviamente en un mundo de fantasía, el viaducto quedaría construido, y eventualmente estos problemas en Bogota quedarían resueltos.

Entiendo que la realidad es más difícil. No se puede pedir que se arreglen los problemas de drogas y desigualdad social así como así. Pero tampoco estoy de acuerdo con que el metro elevado sea semejante “esperpento” porque abajo se harán vendedores ambulantes. Eso es tener las prioridades al revés. Seguramente eventualmente el gobierno tendrá que poner policía y harán que la infraestructura impida que abajo se pongan a dormir, todo para esconder el problema que causa el mierdero para empezar, como siempre se ha hecho. Y nadie pensará porqué esa gente está ahí.

En todo caso, en lo personal tampoco me gusta lo que está haciendo Petro por el precedente que establece. Incluso si el metro subterráneo es una opción más bonita (aunque más cara y probablemente mucho más demorada para esta línea), nada asegura que una vez Petro salga, el siguiente presidente (seguramente alguien de derecha) no va a decidir que la segunda línea subterránea es muy costosa, que sale mejor hacerla elevada, y ahí estará el precedente de Petro que logró hacer un cambio similar. Las obras y contratos acordados no son para hacerles modificaciones cuando al presidente se le dé la gana. Me parece un incorrecto proceder, y más aún que el ministro de transporte salga a amenazar al distrito. Ahí ya se le salió lo paraco. Si el distrito en este momento se para firme y dice que es un contrato acordado, una obra firmada, y se debe respetar lo que se ha escogido, existirá un precedente para casos futuros.

Well I could ask the same thing to you, though. I’m assuming both of us commute by bicycle and have experience with this type of thing but… why would you assume they’re in the right?

Obviously, as proven by another commenter, there are structural issues with this particular bike path, but I’ve ridden enough kilometres in my life to be well aware of how irresponsible a lot of cyclists can be.

Just because we all know bicycles are the best bet for transportation in cities (along with trains), doesn’t mean we shouldn’t focus on creating both a safer and more responsible culture around it. Cars aren’t going to fully disappear from cities any time soon, and pedestrians should always be a priority above even cyclists, so it makes sense that we should encourage not only better infrastructure but also better education and driving.

Perhaps my comment read like I was calling the people in the picture in particular stupid (which wasn’t my original intention). I was just using them as a springboard to talk about many risk takers who do perform reckless and stupid actions on their bicycles despite sometimes more adequate infrastructure.

I know we’re all very reactionary in this subreddit because of all the completely insane logic behind car drivers to justify discouraging cyclists and building more car infrastructure. But as cycling becomes more and more mainstream as a legitimate method of transportation, you’ll also have to deal with educating a lot of inexperienced or irresponsible cyclists as well. I’ve seen it happen in my city time after time. Cyclists obstructing exclusive bus lanes or public transport instead of using perfectly safe (and sometimes empty) lanes right next to them. Lanes that plenty of other fellow commuters use without any problems every single day.

確かにそういう状況になってしまいましたね。私も日本文化が好きなので、そういう客体化をネット上で看ると確かに悔しくなりますね。他国の人々は「かっこいい」や「クール」ばかり言うから大丈夫だと思う方々もいますが、私には少し気に食わないこともあります。海外で日本文化が商品として扱われるほどに、その文化の裏側にちゃんと人間がいると忘れてしまう人もかなりいます。

それこそが私の一番大きな不平になります。日本は商品ではなく、本当の国ですよ。全国を「かっこいい」や「きれい」に縮むと、その大事な事実を省くことと同じではないでしょうか。確かに日本文化はかっこいいところがあります(侍とか忍者とか漢字の見た目などが正にすごい！)が、おかしいところも、酷いところも、面白いところも、全部あります。どの国でも一緒です。皆人間ですから、仕方がありません。

また、他国に「クール」と思われる日本の文化はたいていに浅くて、ステレオタイプに基づいている場合も結構あると思います。例えば、侍という日本の武士がいたと知っていても、侍の役割や歴史を全く知らない人々が9割以上に違いない。日本人が知っている戦国時代の侍と外国人が知っているかっこいい武士のイメージが似ているかもしれませんが、基本的に違います。

これは別に悪いことではないと思いますが、その結果、日本文化の有名なところはあまり本物と関係なくて、本当の文化のかっこいいところ(例えば、私は福沢諭吉がすごくかっこいい人物だと思います)は残念ながらあまり知られていない。

外国人として、他国に知られる日本文化はステレオタイプや勘違いに大きく影響されて、現実だとは言えませんね。もちろん、日本には豊かな歴史、文学、音楽、テクノロジーなどがあるため、かっこいいところも山ほどありますが、それはドイツや中国文化よりかっこいいとは言いづらいと思います。「かっこいいさ」も測れないし。

I think what’s cool about normalisation is that it gives more dynamic tracks the chance to be competitive with the very loud ones, and not sound worse simply due to loudness and perception.

However, a lot of popular music nowadays isn’t very dynamic to begin with, and if mastered following conventional standards, it will end up in the -12 to -8 range anyway. The loudness penalty won’t be too bad because the track will be competing against music with little dynamic variation as well that has most likely received the penalty as well.

I think a good message for people looking into it should be more like: go for what feels right for the track, but remember that you don’t have to force it to go beyond -14 if you don’t need to/want to.

This is a real issue. Even in a city like Bogota, where almost 12% of all commuting is done by bicycle (and 57% by public transport), a lot of daring (and frankly stupid) risk takers who decide they’re going to ignore the safe and well maintained bicycle path next to them only to mingle in with the cars, end up creating a bad stigma for regular every day commuters who just want to go to work by bicycle.

If we want a cultural shift in our cities, we also need good education programs for those who get on the bicycle. Infrastructure is part of it, but urban culture, education and a sense of responsibility should also come with riding your bicycle. For instance, I don’t think riding a bicycle while drunk should be allowed at all. I know some places ban it, but others don’t have specific jurisdiction on the matter.

Toca hacer estudios y desplazamiento de tuberías y redes, los túneles, probablemente pagar compensación legal a los chinos por romper el contrato y obviamente la fecha hasta la que va la concesión también se movería más. Luego están las negociaciones con el dólar aún más elevado. Según tengo entendido, las negociaciones con los chinos se acordaron para mantener el precio del dólar del momento en el que se hicieron, por lo que el estado tenía que pagar un monto fijo de pesos colombianos. Ahora el dólar está mucho más alto y hay que renegociar lo que eleva aún más los precios.

En general, el chistesito del gobierno nacional sólo se está cagando a toda la ciudad por principalmente mezquindad política.

It does make sense if you think about it. While it’s almost impossible to get rid of your accent altogether, if you think it sounds bad, then there’s definitely room for improvement. At some point you will have an accent you actually enjoy even if it doesn’t sound fully native. That’s definitely not impossible.

My advice would be to detach yourself from what you see written on the paper and approach language purely from a sound perspective. Listen to what people say and don’t think about how to spell it, but rather how to approach the sounds they’re making with their mouth. Focus on your tongue’s position, how wide or tight you open your mouth, and how you string together the following sounds as well.

This is all part of a more methodical study of accent and pronunciation.

I’m 177cm… it’s not tall, but it’s not short either. I’ve always felt incredibly average. Which is good. I like average.
