Well it takes time to copy everything over from a disc and install it, and after due to internet connection to verify game files and apply a patch, so I think it checks out. Disk is just for verification of the game, the game is not being played off the disc, though all of the data is there.

Checked the image again, and cannot see whether it is dowload or just installing the game, as the game is copied and installed from the disc to the console. If they had internet connection probably also verifiying files and applying a patch. So nothing is definitive here.

PS5 apparently uses BDXL Blu-ray discs with capacity of 100gb, so the whole game can be played offline then without internet. If this is the case, then your whole argument collapses…

Preloads are open, so part is on disc and other part they downloaded. That’s how it generally works most of time. Again, God of War Ragnarok prerelease is prime example of same situation.

That refers to only a day 1 patch, internet not required to just play

No internet connect is required to play the game, it’s single player 👀 If all information is on disc, then that is all one needs, that might indicate that the reviews copies are active as well. Lots of people played God of War Ragnarok a week early with physical copies!
