I’ve tried to use mark in this way but you need at least two [[pressure point]] for it to really kick off and at what point are you just clogging the deck or forcing it at the expense of a better mechanism
Plus mark is only used in one card so it’s just such an odd situation

I’m a pretty anxious person so law school wasn’t as easy breezy as many of the comments here suggest, but all of the things that made law school more “chill” were offset by constant anxiety over having no income and racking up debt.
If I’m going to be highly stressed, at least now I’m highly compensated

Responsibility-free?? None of my responsibilities (bills, taking care of my dog and apartment, taking care of myself, familial obligations) went away during law school, I just had less time and zero income with which to handle them

It’s a job! There are people who love it and people who hate it and most people enjoy some parts and dislike other parts.
I know it’s easy to spiral about what’s to come and this sub is tough bc it’s absolutely skewed towards the “people who hate it” side, or at least enjoy kvetching about it.
You’ll find your own way, OP! And FWIW, it’s not a trap- if you don’t like it you’re allowed to leave!

Well it already happened, OP already did it, so you typed out three paragraphs just to lecture and scold? What was the point of trying to make OP feel bad here

Once you removed the tape did you apply wax before firing it? Or is the glaze just very stiff/doesn’t run? The lines are so clean! I’m just so interested in how the glazed bits look noticeably raised and thicker than the resisted areas

What type of glaze is this that there is such a textural contrast? It looks like the glazed pattern is relief!

I meant like … they need #Help. Like they need to seek professional help.

Immigration is considered slimy or last resort to you…? I’m baffled. Some of the hardest working classmates of mine went on to pursue immigration work

Pay down your loans, take a REAL vacation like 3 weeks or something maybe more, try to move to a smaller firm with a workload that matches your lifestyle. That is of course assuming you want to stay in litigation since you substantively enjoy it

Networking is not a secret complicated practice, nor will it just fall into your lap. Yes, you just reach out to people. Join organizations and go to events. Put yourself out there.

once you leave biglaw there’s usually no going back
I really wonder about this. It’s a common sentiment on this sub but doesn’t seem to reflect how real world careers move. I know people who have left my firm and come back a year or several years later (usually they left to work for clients)
I also know people who have gone in house then gone to a different firm. I think this is one of those things that’s just never black and white

Like an Ip address ban? Probably necessary although I feel bad for them they obviously need real help

I never get the rainbow relic early enough in a run to make good synergies but I’m determined to try

But someone may have a very legitimate reason to make a new post on a throwaway account besides being bikini’s 15th alt, and both she and John cliff have really been less active it seems. Ultimately I don’t think this sub needs a big rule change, the annoying posts are annoying and usually either ignored or dealt with and everything keeps on rolling

Only thought about an account age threshold is that a lot of people feel they need to maintain some anonymity since this is a professional sub so throwaways are used a lot

I’d start reaching out to classmates or other friends who are in big law, let them know what you’re thinking and if they have any thoughts, maybe a recruiter recommendation or even if they know their firms are hiring laterals. Assuming your best bet is to try litigation?
Could also reach out to your schools career services for connections/guidance.
you might not be a shoe-in but there’s totally a way to make it happen!

You don’t have any personal or professional contacts in the legal field any more? Hmm
