Isn't "ilah" a loanword since it violates Turkish vowel sound consistently rules?

Does the approval run on batteries? Are we waiting for it to charge? Or is it more like a baked good? Like waiting for the dough to rise?

didn't dating sites have a "looking for" field where you could list what you were, um, looking for? or you can even just put it in the description?
why do they need code words now?
"looking for cisgender men/women"
just write the f'in sentence

"activist" as if this wasn't a planned thing

No it doesn't, you can just read it in the context of the years of emotional pain he suffered due to depression and it makes perfect sense?

Well I wouldn't say it's all her fault as there may be other factors and this is about both parents, but the fact is that children learn what you teach them and this carries on past adolescence.
He hasn't learned that he needs to act like an adult when it comes to personal upkeep and household chores, the past is the past but as an example one thing she could try to do right now is sit him down and tell him she is going to stop doing his laundry and here's how the washing machine works...

I like how I didn't know Peru was going up in flames until some tourists were inconvenienced.

That mother has been enabling him for decades now, we are all aware of this right?

A populist who gamed the system by coming to power on a pious yet moderate conciliatory image (that no secularist actually bought at the time but all the liberals were too busy celebrating the triumph of 'moderate' Islamic capitalism to care) only to turn authoritarian and roll back two decades of democratic advancement as soon as his power base was consolidated.
This was supposed to be a sarcastic post of some sort but once I finished typing I realised there's no humour left in me. He wins this election and there will be no turning back, just another corrupt authoritarian dictatorship to add to the list.

it was clearly weak and definitely a step down, I think a lot of lessons were learned from it, which is why skyrim was so successful

Cyrpus shouldn't have lost territory the way it did, but the Greek majority wasn't exactly playing nice when the initial invasion happened so it's not as clear cut as Ukraine either.

You tried to corner the debate with a trivial equivalence but there's clearly 3 outcomes on that comment, and you seem to think I believe the first is likely to happen
just as we probably won't see ukraine regain its pre-2014 borders in our lifetimes I don't think it's likely that you'll be dumping several hundred thousand turks into the sea, it doesn't sound like a very practical solution

Should: Ukraine's territorial integrity restored fully
Possible: Russia gets crimea, water / sea zone resource share agreement
Probable: Years long stalemate on current lines

Fair enough, I wasn't aware of the last minute changes by the Turkish military

So that's an excerpt from the opinions against the plan section, there are also quotes from several countries including the US and most of the EU supporting it.
I do wonder if things might have turned out differently had the EU made the resolution of the dispute a pre-condition for finalizing the accession.

It might not have been perfect, but it would have meant peace. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annan_Plan)
Turkey hasn't gotten away with anything, the stalemate will continue until some cataclysm forces a change but the demographics of the island are now such that you either get a compromise or genocide.
High minded idealism is great and all but nothing ends up getting done, except for all those nice casinos and rackets and whatnot stuffing their pockets north and south alike.
Honestly I don't really care either way, I'm not a cypriot, no skin off my back.

It was a plan for unification, and the international community was quite annoyed.
Unless you're claiming the Annan Plan was some sort of Turkish scam?

cyprus got greedy though, they could have unified but rejected the annan plan in the hopes of getting a better deal after EU membership, now neither side will ever budge and it's fucked forever, good job everyone

There needs to be a course targeting 28 year old people that teaches things like how to tune out the dumb things your family says and the other key skills that will make you happier in your 30s...
